Specialist, Tax & Compliance
Job Summary
- This position is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing the company wide Tax systems.
- Ensure effective tax compliance & planning.
- Provide timely information on tax issues to minimise company tax liability.
- Ensure statutory compliance process.
- Ensure the company benefits from up to date tax laws.
Principal Functions
- File company’s monthly tax return on or before due dates.
- Respond to queries from both federal and state tax authorities within 48 hours of receiving the queries.
- Register the company with relevant Tax Authorities.
- Provide accurate periodic computation, provision and filing of withholding tax (WHT), value added tax (VAT), and company Income and Education Tax returns.
- Clarify tax matters to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Obtain the Corporate Tax Clearance Certificate (c-TCC) FROM Federal Inland Revenue Service and State tax authorities.
- Maintain effective working relationship with relevant tax authorities.
- Provide relevant support to internal & external audit team where necessary.
- Annual computation, filing and payment of capital gains Tax.
- On daily basis, support Account Payable and other units by providing advice on applicability or otherwise of WHT on transaction and the applicability or otherwise of WHT on transactions and the applicable WHT rate.
- Conduct Tax verification exercise with State Board of Internal Revenue on a yearly basis in respect of tax remittances to such states(s).
- Provide support to HR in the processing and obtaining of Tax Clearance Certificate for individual staff from State Board of Internal Revenue of their place of Residence.
- Process and collect tax receipts and credit notes from the relevant tax authorities (FIRS & State Board of Internal Revenue), for the business (Etisalat Nigeria) as well as for Suppliers.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor Degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Administration or any related degrees.
- Relevant professional qualifications (ICAN, CITN).
- Post graduate degree (advantage).
Experience,Skills & Competencies
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in relevant field, supervising company Tax activities preferably within the telecoms industry.
- Strong practical understanding of Taxation system in Nigeria.
Specialist; Process Design
Job Summary
Support and implement business performance improvement by creating a structure to proactively identify processes that will support achievement of operational excellence
Principal Functions
- Execute process identification to deployment schedule and coordinate its methodical operation.
- Support process validation and requirements gathering and facilitate stakeholders buy-in focused on achieving organizations objective
- Facilitation of projects /programs key processes and make recommendations to the Project owner
- Facilitate awareness and educate stakeholders to ensure processes are transformed and made operational thereby achieving organization’s objective
- Support collation of risk, audit and all business report and prioritize implementation of recommendations
- Support the measurement and analysis of process awareness level through periodic reports based on documented assessment thus identifying acceptable method of process deployment
- Provide support in Designing programs / workshops to effectively communicate Business process management system and mores to both internal and external customers
- Facilitate the implementation of Service Level management framework for the purpose of maximizing vendor relationship management

Educational Requirements

Manager, Banking Relationships
Job Summary
Oversee treasury liquidity and cash management and manage local and foreign banking relationships
Principal Functions
- Develop and maintain an effective relationship with local and foreign banks, Financial Institutions (i.e. CBN NDIC) etc
- Responsible for the implementation and management of treasury operational processes and trade finance related transactions.
- Ensure compliance to the company treasury processes, company policy guiding treasury activities and all regulatory/statutory laws.
- Maintain procedure descriptions of all treasury activities under the scope.
- Develop and enforce the treasury policies, processes and procedures that have been developed
- Ensure that Certificate of Capital Importation (CCI) are issued within 24 hours after receipt of the capital inflow and relevant documentation
- Develop processes to optimize cash and liquidity management
- Manage all month and year end reporting deadlines in compliance with the Group’s directives and guidelines
- Liaise with IT for matters with a treasury/financial content; play an active key-user role in projects for functionality in the treasury/financial domain
- Provide advice and participate in the solution of specific treasury / financial-related issues for all entities.
- Oversee all the trade finance related transactions
- Ensure that all payments and receivables are captured on the ERP
- Oversee and enforce the Advance Payment Bonds and Bank Guarantees in Treasury
- Carry out all assigned tasks as directed by the Director, Treasury & Corporate Finance
Educational Requirements
- First degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Professional qualification (CIMA, CFA, ACCA, ICAN, etc) an added advantage
