Welder Foreman
Prime Responsibilities and duties
- Ability to weld all position of welding such as 3G, 4G, 6G & 6GR on SMAW/FCAW on both plate and pipe.
- Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
- Welding spare parts in various directions: flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead, etc.;
- Supervising and identifying any fault in operating the equipment or in relation to any material or equipment, then notifying the supervisors;
- Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, bolting, or grinding spare parts as necessary to satisfy the technical requirements and create a welded final product;
- Operating other accessory equipments and performing some tasks necessary for welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, and other types of welding arcs;
- Examining finish products and spare parts and comparing them with samples to check whether the specifications are met;
- Being in charge of preparing and setting up necessary tools and equipments for welding job such as shielded metal arc, gas metal arc or other welding equipments

Rigging Foreman
Purpose / Role
Responsible to the Rigging Superintendent for the leadership and organization of the rigging and moving loads function on the site/installation to fully execute the requirements of the rigging and moving loads support service safely and effectively Key aims and objectives.
Prime Responsibilities and duties
- Accountable for promoting Safety.
- Plan & control work activities ensuring that a safe system of work is in place and followed during all lifting operations
- Implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the rigging work scope is completed efficiently, in compliance with LOLER and to a high standard of safety.
- Review and approve all lift plans developed by the site/installation rigging and moving loads function .
- Complete all work scopes in accordance with applicable workpack / jobcard instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches.
- Ensure job cards are completed and accurate progress reported
- Ensure time writing for the rigging and moving loads function is accurate and completed on time.
The Person
- 5-8 years’ experience in rigging in Oil & Gas / Fabrication environment.
- Previous Offshore Rigger experience is essential
- Level 3 Rigging Assessment or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Good level of verbal and written communication in English.
Scaffolding Foreman
Personnel reporting directly to this position
Purpose
- The scaffolding foreman is a working foreman
- Make sure the JSA,S and toolbox talks have been done correctly and are in place
- Make sure the scaffolders are working safely and to the right standards and procedures
Key aims and objectives
- Safety of all personnel
- Lead scaffold team to erect dismantle modify all types of scaffolding

- Make sure the work face is kept clean and tidy

Pipe Fitter
Qualification

Rigging Supervisor
Prime Responsibilities and Duties
· Knowledge of trade terminology (i.e. lifting equipment, lifting accessories, slings, shackles, wires, ropes, chains, cables, nets etc.).
· The incumbent will make sure that gears for a lifting is conveyed to work site; and reporting of any defective rigging gear to Supervisor.
· Knowledge of types and layout of drawings such as structural, layout, plant, equipment detail drawings etc.
· Knowledge of abbreviations and drafting symbols such as lines, piping and fitting symbols, and control symbols commonly used.
· Have the ability to recognize types of lifting equipment (i.e. wire rope hoists, beam clamps, beam trolleys, plate clamps, sheave blocks, winches etc.).
· Have the ability to recognize types of lifting accessories (i.e. slings, shackles, wires, ropes, chains, cables, nets etc.).
· Have knowledge and ability to determine if lifting equipment and lifting accessories are safe to use.

Purpose

- Show Forman scaffolder the task and make sure he has his jsa and toolbox talk in place
Key aims and objectives
- Meet with supervisors from other trades to discuss where scaffolds need erecting
- Arrange for the correct materials to be brought to the work face to complete the task

Coating Foreman
Purpose
To be a team player in the corrosion protection treatment process of Fabricated Structural Steel Structures and Associated items.

- To apply your work skills in a manner which enables the Coating Department to deliver defect free product, which conforms to customer supplied specifications and Project working procedures.
- To assist the department in achieving this objective at the first attempt, within the time allowed and at each subsequent attempt.

Purpose
- Maintenance of Equipment and Facilities;
- Supervision of all Paint Shop and Construction site coating activities Ongoing training of department personnel;
- Full responsibility for passive fire protection scope of work;
- Planning and execution of daily coating activities.

- To apply paint in a manner and at the stipulated wet film thickness (WFT), adhering to project and/or Nigerdock working procedures, ensuring the desired quality in finished product is achieved.
- Your rate of production will be in line with acceptable industry norms, utilizing correctly functioning and correctly set equipment.
- As a specialist tradesman you will always be held fully responsible for the quality of your own work and you will inspect your own work for conformance.
- To always ensure your equipment is cleaned properly and to report faulty equipment immediately to your supervisor.
- To ensure that you are aware of the hazards pertaining to the tasks you are performing and ensuring that you always wear suitable PPE and use suitable equipment.
- To act in a responsible manner and plan your working day according to instructions given to you by your superiors, ensuring that in a reasonable time allocation, you collect all PPE and equipment necessary to perform your tasks prior to you moving to the work site.

- As a specialist tradesman you will always be held fully responsible for the quality of your own work and you will check your own work for conformance to requirements.

- To carry out instructions from your superiors in a safe manner at all times.
- Assuming responsibilities of completing all tasks assigned to you in a safe manner and in accordance with the relevant project and/or Nigerdock supplied working procedures.
- To carry out any required task relating to the delivery of Blasted and/or Painted items, including but not limited to washing, cleaning, loading of grit/pot operator duties, stripe coating, housekeeping, equipment maintenance etc.
- Your daily rate of production will be satisfactory and in line with acceptable industry norms.
- As part of the production team you will always be held fully responsible for the quality of your own work and you will inspect your own work for conformance.
- To always ensure the equipment you use is cleaned properly and to report faulty equipment immediately to your superiors.
- To ensure that you are aware of the hazards pertaining to the tasks you are performing and ensuring that you always wear suitable PPE and use suitable equipment and consumables.

Welder – Shipyard
Job Description (but not limited to)
· Shall be able to deposit a sound weld which will be inspected by certified welding inspector and tested for its conformity.
· Knowledge about various welding consumables and its maintenance.
· Up to date knowledge of welding safety and equipment safety.
· Ability to read and understand welding procedures, specifications etc.
· Reading of drawings and instructions, layout and fabrication of systems as request.
· Ability to work on Carbon Steel, Arc, Cast Iron, Stainless Steel, special alloy and Aluminum etc.
· Ability to carry out SMAW, TIG, MIG, Gas, etc welding in all positions on Pipelines, Vessels structures and equipment.
· Ability to carry out Soldering and Brazing works.
· Being able to qualify for the all welding procedures and standards.
· Understand and apply the plant safety standards and maintenance procedures while performing the work.
· In addition to his normal jobs, he should assist and participate in other maintenance activities.
· Will be subject to internal training on safety, quality improvement tools to participate in Nigerdock continuous improvement.

Educational Qualification
· Fluent knowledge of English language (speak, read, and write).
· Graduate certification from High School.
· Craft Certificate from a recognized institution as welder trade (ITI certificate).
· Holds weld certificate on welding procedures in GAS, ARC, and MIG & TIG welding to relevant ASME, BS and API codes.
Work Experience
· Minimum eight years work experience as a Welder.
· Ability to perform work independently work normally performed by this craft.
· Welders shall require monitoring by contractor QA/QC program to qualify and to re qualify for welding procedures required to perform work.
Pipe Fitter Foreman
Prime Responsibilities and Duties
· Reading and interpretation of schematic drawings of pipe systems, isometric sketches, combination drawings, construction drawings and isometric view drawings.
· Arrangement and performing pressure testing as specified on the drawings and/or in the pressure test instructions after welding.
· Execution of dimension control on pipe systems and checking if all accessories and fittings in the pipe system are mounted.
· Knowledge of using hoisting tooling and flushing unit knowledge of pipe system specifications, technical and safety standards is required
· Capable of using equipment and tools for Pipe fitting, as well as for steel construction in general.
· Responsible for the execution and application of the HSE procedures within his work area.

Welding Superintendent
Purpose
- Manages and coordinate the deployment and activities of welding personnel and equipment within an assigned project or area of work
- Ensure all work activities are undertaken in compliance with HSEQ manual, Safe Work Practises, Project Specifications, Weld Procedure Specifications and relevant Codes and Standards
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery in accordance with Project Schedules
Key Aims
- Safety of all personnel
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with HSEQ manual, Project Specifications and all relevant procedures.
- Ensure welding equipment is available and ready in accordance with project plans and schedules.
- Ensure all welders have the appropriate training, competency assessments and welding qualifications for the work to be undertaken.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all welding and associated activities carried out within assigned work area.
- Identify manpower and equipment requirements for the assigned work.
- Allocate welding resources and equipment to work areas.
- Advise the Welding Engineer on welders’ abilities.
- Conduct surveillance monitoring of welding electrodes to be utilised in accordance with approved Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).

- Ensure completed welds are of satisfactory appearance/cleanliness and suitable for Visual Inspections/Non Destructive Testing (NDT).

- Monitor productivity, repair rates and schedule performance and be pro-active in investigating the reasons for poor performance and implementing corrective measures.

- Ensure all welders are conversant with the Welding Procedure Specifications to which they are working.
- Conduct random monitoring of welding controls as detailed in the Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) during the welding cycle.
- Notify the Welding Inspectors on completion of welded joints.
- Allocation of work fronts to Welding Supervisors.

Rigging Superintendent
Purpose
Manages and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in rigging, movement, lifting, skidding and erecting operations and the operation of cranes, forklifts and other machinery and equipment involved. Applying the most cost effective rigging/lifting plans and lead the execution of those plans in accordance with Company Work in conjunction with Project Management Team and assist in the construction effort in /Client procedures and operating standards.

Prime Responsibilities and Duties

The Person
- Minimum of 10-12 years rigging and lifting experience in the oil and gas construction (or other relevant) industry
- Time-served apprenticeship as a rigger in a fabrication yard with the minimum of a recognised trades or craft qualification or equivalent Diploma Conversant with LOLER and PUWER regulations and other international codes and specifications applicable to rigging and lifting Extensive knowledge of rigging activities required during the fabrication of offshore structures (jackets, piles, bridges, modules, topsides, flare towers, etc.) and have the ability to safely execute roll-ups, flip-overs, deck stacking, and all other day to day rigging and lifting activities

- Welding spare parts in various directions: flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead, etc.;

Scaffolder
Prime Responsibilities and Duties
· Should have knowledge in the erection and dismantling of most scaffold designs (Cantilever scaffolds, independent scaffold with return and mobile tower, scaffold with pre- fabricated beams and Tower scaffolds)
· Should have knowledge of safe handling and inspection of scaffold materials.
· Setting down base plates on the ground at regular intervals (these stop the upright poles slipping)
· Putting up the scaffolding poles (standards) and fixing the horizontal tubes (ledgers) to them with couples
· Fixing the scaffolding to the building or structure to make it more stable, using short ‘tie tubes’.
